Leadership

Rick Simonson is the President and Creative Director of RLSimonson Studios, Inc. He is an illustrator, designer, and science educator. He has over six years of experience as a professional science textbook illustrator. His work can be found in a wide variety of titles including some of the most widely published textbooks produced by the major publishers. He has done illustration and art development for college and high school textbooks in the fields of biology, human anatomy & physiology, chemistry, and earth science.  He is an active member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.

Rick has over 15 years of experience in college biology education. General biology, human anatomy & physiology, botany, microbiology, plant physiology, cell biology, and soils are all subjects he has taught. This experience provides Rick with a great understanding of how to effectively teach science courses and of the beneficial use of appropriate teaching materials. Rick also has experience with distance education. He teaches an online graduate course in scientific illustration and gives workshops and lectures on illustration techniques.

Teamwork is important! Rick's team consists of some truly outstanding scientific and medical illustrators. Each having many years of experience in developing artwork and other content for textbooks, research publications, and other scientific applications.
